Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure

Citizenship-by-Descent.com is free to use. It is supported by advertising and, where marked, by affiliate and referral partnerships. This page explains both, and how we keep them from influencing what we recommend.

Affiliate and referral links

Some links to third-party services — law firms, document-retrieval and apostille providers, translators, genealogy platforms — are affiliate or referral links. If you follow one of those links and go on to buy a service or book a consultation, we may receive a commission or a referral fee. This is at no extra cost to you; you pay the provider exactly what you would have paid otherwise.

How paid links are marked

  • Every affiliate or sponsored outbound link carries the attribute rel="sponsored".
  • Any placement that a provider has paid for is labelled “Sponsored” and kept visually separate from the editorial text around it.
  • Where a whole section or list is affiliate-supported, a short notice says so at the top of that section.

Independence

A partnership never buys a better position in a guide, a comparison table, or a “who can help” list, and it is never the reason a provider is mentioned. Editorial content is researched and ranked on its own merits; paid placements are a separate, clearly-labelled layer on top. Our editorial policy describes how guides are researched and updated.

My own products

I (Michael Soucek) also run LetsLearnHungarian.com, which sells a paid Hungarian Citizenship Guide. Hungarian results and the Hungary guide may mention it where simplified naturalization, which requires Hungarian, is a relevant route. It is always labelled, never required, and has no effect on eligibility or on what the checker tells you.

Advertising

The site also displays advertising through Google AdSense. Ad and analytics cookies are only set after you accept them through the cookie banner. See the privacy policy for the full detail, including your GDPR and CCPA rights.

Why we disclose

We disclose these relationships to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guides and equivalent rules elsewhere, and because you deserve to know when a recommendation could earn the site money.

Becoming a partner

Service providers can find partnership and advertising information on the partner page. Questions about this disclosure can go through contact.
